The Kakira epic hiking and cycling trail

Kakira sugar plantation lies approximately 16 kilometres by road, northeast of Jinja city.

The Kakira epic hiking and cycling trail starts from Wandago through the expansive plantation on a narrow ruler drawn road to Wabulungu and to Wairaka on the lake victoria shores.

Hiking trail 15km(5 hrs for slowest hiker)

Cycling trail 25km(5 hrs for slowest rider)

The experience.
On this same day experience, we shall cycle and hike through one of the oldest sugarcane estates in Uganda and one of the largest in Africa.
The vast well marked trails will give you a moment of solitude and a feeling of being lost sorrounded by the artificial green.

A snack break on the plantation hill will offer you a breath taking sight of the whole sugar estate, lake Victoria, mwiri hill, and Jinja town.

Having pulled a sweat and worn out, you shall have a swim in the lake Victoria at Wairaka.

The Itinerary
Saturday June 3rd 2023
8.am Leave Kampala from Lugogo mall(meeting point)

10.30a.m- Arrival in Kakira. Preparation and start of the cycling and hiking.

1.00pm- snack break and Sightseeing

15.00pm- End of hike and cycling trail. A visit to the Source of the Nile for Lunch and a swim.

4.00pm- The road to Kampala
